The Beach House Restaurant

are they closed down?

Tried going here for dinner, and there was some closed function going on. No sign on the window or anything. Fail.

The best calamari I ever had was at the Beach House, the place is clean, food is excellent, with the view of the Thompson River, it is just a bonus. I highly recommend the Beach House to all my family and friends.

I went to dinner with my husband, we were impressed by the food and service we received. Cozy and friendly atmosphere, dining overlooking the Thompson River is exceptional romantic. Price is also very reasonable.

How sad it is when a group of more than 30 people spend their had earned money on food that is dried out and over cooked -then when we tried to address the issues we are ignored we will not be back and if asked we will say why

My husband and I had lunch at the Beach House today and it was probably the worst meal we have had in years. The server was friendly and apologetic but didn't make any ammends. The food was so terrible I am actually afraid we may become sick later today. The cook (I say cook because he is definately not a chef) looked grumpy and actually dirty. I am sure she didn't tell him of our complaint because she was scared. We will never go there again even if it was free.

The Beach House by the River , has been transformed into a classy upbeat restaurant with 2 new menus . Their food is awesome, very tasty. I would recommend trying it out for Dinner, you WON'T be disappointed !!!!! Soon, I hope to be enjoying Lunch on the best patio, over- looking the river ! That is if we ever get some warm weather !!!!! HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE.....

New renovation cozy and romatic, you can see the night kamloop and train past by. House on the mountain . Thomas river beside the restraunt , you can see the street light reflect in the river. Most attrative is beach house have big side window dosen't matter day or night you can see different landscap kamloop, also they have excellent food

very good time. Atmosphere was well balanced. Food was tasty.

ps there food doesnt come in fresh i know trust me also tons of food safe issues if you want food poisoning take a walk on the cockside, ow and the owner tyron likes to hit women like his ex in the kitchen in front of his staff, and beat natives up and choke them out on the ground in the kitchen

They say if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all. Sorry to the folks at the Beach House. Maybe they will get some new menu items.

When they first opened the new Docksyde I found it expensive and I felt under dressed since I came from work. No I do not work at wally world and I eat out 5 to 10 times a week, never fast food. I started going back when they offered the $6 lunch specials, beer and lunch for $10 now that's reasonable. Anything my fiends and I ate at the new Docksyde was excellent. Some of the waitresses suck but my tip reflects the poor service. In general the service in Kamloops is lacking. I spent many years living in Vancouver and Victoria. Finally Kamloops is getting some decent places to eat. My compliments to the chefs, it's nice you take pride in your work and it shows. Last time I was in I heard they canceled the $6 lunch. The problem now is there is a lot of choice and places like the new Chillies/Dirty Jersey also decided to hire some great cooks. At least now Baileys changed their menu and incresed prices so the Docksyde still has better chefs, as opposed to Baileys cooks and I am looking forward to having a few cool ones on the patio this summer.

It's alright. The best thing about it is the view.

Ha Ha you guys are tools. $38 dollars for a steak. $22 dollar steak is what I ate and it was great. You want to complain about a menu that is too expensive sorry you work at walmart and can't afford a $10 burger. The prices are very affordable if not go to your trailer and cook some kraft dinner. Basically what I'm saying is cause you are jelaous and could never do something to the extent that was done to this place (I know a walmart wage you can maybe get into a pinto or trade in the firefly your driving for a tempo)then Fly at er at go to the Keg and bring your toothless family too.

I was just reviewing some of this and wanted to make a comment on a chi chi. Chi chi's are made with milk pinapple and coconut syrup. So I'd have to be a little embarased on that comment. Chi chi's at McDonalds may not have milk Big Girl must get them there. Learn to read and I'm sure you would see no sides of potatoes for $4. Theres lot's of burgers, wraps, fish n chips, and other pub foods on the menu at all great prices. If both of you are going to complain, complain about your own miserable failed lives. Ha ha must suck!

Docksyde has beyond reasonable prices. They have a wine and dine promotion right now that is $49 including a bottle of vQA St.Hubertus wine, and your choice of 2 out of five really nice entrees. The pub specials are great and my husband and I frequent Docksyde Pub and Restaurant and we have really enjoyed the food and drinks. The drink special are really cheap too. I love the view and the relaxed atmosphere as well.

I went to the Docksyde Pub the other night. It was terrible, just terrible. The service was very bad, very slow (I had to order the same drink three times before it came), the waitress was unfriendly, the food was WAY overpriced for what it was (your basic pub food that you can find anywhere), and the atmosphere was very dark and boring. It had no personality at all. There were also a group of young guys yelling like wild Arabs at the top of their lungs and yelling at almost everyone who came in the place or left. Did the staff do anything about it? No, not a thing. Gee, there's somewhere I want to go again.. a kindergarten with alcohol.

Docksyde may have been renovated recently, so it looks new, but the feel of the place is like an old strip club. I actually got a look at the restaurant side's menu because the waitress brought us the wrong menu initially, and it's even more overpriced than the pub side! The comment below is correct (maybe the guy really is the cook -- gotta wonder though, with his/her spelling) - $38 dollars for a steak - and that steak looks like it was bought at Safeway and cooked on a frying pan at someone's home. Sorry guys, but if you are going to charge more for a steak than the average steakhouse like the Keg charges, you better have taste or at least the service and atmosphere to back it up and hey, you don't. Not by a long shot.

well see im a cook at docksyde pub and bistro, and this is all wrong yeah greeat reno's great staff yeah some not up to par but what can ou do, otyher then that we have a great freaking crew service staff knows their stuf, and the owners are too good, also as for 38 doller steaks thats for a 16 ounce porter house one of the finest steaks you can buy we offer a menu for all ages and cost you can get lunch with the family for under ten bucks a head, we offfer at elast 6 kinds of steaks everything we have is brought to us dailey and who gives a flying crap about chi-chi's they suck anyways, so ya'll please come to docksyde were a talented and well picked kitchen staff and were a tight knit family there we do our best to be the best and know come and get an outcome on the joint, also ask about banquets and gatherings also sunday nights we have king crab and snow crab and mondays fish and chips for 6 bucks, again thanks for reading this, the personw ho wrote the bad commment YOUR WRONG...WE ALSO HAVE BRAND NEW TVS ALL OVER THE PLCE SO DONT TALK DOWN ON A HRAD WORKING COMPANY...MUCHLY APPRECIATED...DOCKSYDE PUB AND BISTRO...BOTH OPEN KNOW...ALSO CHECK OUT OUT NEW LIQUOR STORE LOCATED IN FRONT OF THE MAIN BUILDING ON TRANQUILLE ROAD....AGAIN THANKS ALOT...BEAU HO THE COOK EXTRODINAIRE...YES THAT IS CORRECT BEAU....

Prices are outragous steak $38 (sides i.e. potatoes etc are extra $4each!) be prepared to be dressed up to the 9's its not a boatting restaurant (no burgers, fries, fish&chips, pizza everyday food ect Have fun cause the service isn't all that great either however nice renovations

I LOOOOOOOVE The Beach House

My friends and I quite frequently try different restaurants while we travel. We stopped in this little hidden Restaurant, and I have to say, the food was tasteful, the service needed some improvement, but overall the experiece at this restaurant was quite exceptional. They know how to mix a delightful drink, most staff are friendly and the setting is quite comfortable. I farely Enjoyed relaxing in the sun, sitting on the deck, with a nice cold drink, good food, and friends to enjoy it with.
If you need a good quiet place to relax with some friends, this is a great place to be.

Something has changed, the service, speed and food was terrible this visit

We had excellent service at the Beach House Restaurant(visited in March, 2007), the food was superb... especially the dessert! Will definately go back next time we're in Kamloops.

Our compliments to the chef on the delicious food and thanks to the servers for the very friendly and prompt service! The restauant has lovely decor and a great view to top it off. Can't wait to go back to Kamloops and to the Beach House!
